Pinot Gris

Pinot Gris, also sold as Pinot Grigio, is a grey-skinned colour mutation of Pinot Noir from France (VIVC 9275). Its bunches are small and cylindrical, the berries smoky grey with bloom, and it accumulates high sugar. In Moldova it is among the leading varieties of the Ștefan Vodă PGI and covered 780 ha in the Register at the end of 2019; it goes into dry white wines and into base wine for sparkling.
