Tigheci

A protected designation of origin registered by AGEPI on 13 April 2026 (DO-0023), Moldova's newest DOP; its specification was approved in July 2025. It lies in the Valul lui Traian region, in the Tigheci hills (Codrii Tigheciului), with about 38 ha of vines. Yields are capped at 13 t per hectare for white and rosé wines and 10 t for reds, and grapes must reach the winery within four hours of picking. The specification allows a wide range: white, rosé, red, skin-contact, sparkling, liqueur and dried-grape wines.
