Busuioacă de Bohotin

Busuioacă de Bohotin is the Romanian name, after the village of Bohotin near Iași, of a pink-skinned member of the Muscat family: VIVC lists it among the synonyms of Muscat à Petits Grains Rouges, a colour mutation of Muscat Blanc à Petits Grains of Greek origin (confirmed by DNA markers), alongside Busuioacă roză and Muscat rozovy. In Romania it is grown in about a hundred hectares around Bohotin, Huși, Pietroasele and Tohani. Its classic style is a sweet rosé scented with rose, basil, honeysuckle and ripe peach; in Moldova Vinăria Poiana also makes it dry.
